Ten years of partnership between Salzgitter Flachstahl and Wuppermann

For 148 years, the name Wuppermann has been synonymous with steel processing. Today's Wuppermann AG is headquartered in Leverkusen and is 100 % family-owned. Wuppermann employs more than 800 people at five production sites with 3 hot-dip galvanizing and 4 pipe welding lines and has a sales volume of 597 million euros in 2019.

In recent decades, the group of companies has developed into one of the leading manufacturers of hot-dip galvanised strip as well as tubes and profiles in Europe. The company concentrates on applications with the highest corrosion protection requirements in the furniture industry, automotive industry, construction industry, solar & energy technology as well as in the transport sector. The "Heat to coat" galvanizing technology developed by Wuppermann and SMS provides the ideal basis for this in terms of process. Zinc coatings of up to 1200 g/m2 can be offered. Besides the standard zinc coating, the company also offers zinc-magnesium coatings up to 1000 g/m2, both as strip and as welded tube or profile.  

The pre-material requirements for hot-rolled strip of Salzgitter Flachstahl are high. The structural and micro-alloyed grades must meet the strictest tolerance specifications, have excellent mechanical processing properties and a surface free of scale – all this with demanding product geometries. Salzgitter Flachstahl meets these customer requirements with its rolling technology and know-how. Against this background, the cooperation has been continuously expanded to the satisfaction of both sides.
